OKLAHOMA

Welcome to Oklahoma!

Known as the Sooner state for it’s history of frontier expansion, Oklahoma is home to lovers of Barbecue, college football, and rodeo. Major cities are Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Common cuisine is catfish and Rocky Mountain oysters….hint* they’re not actually oysters.

You’ll find plenty of diverse kinds of people here, but you’ll also find no shortage of warm smiles, cowboy boots and country music. You’ll also find the headquarters of 39 Native American Tribes. Oklahoma is blessed with all variety of weather from snow to hot summers. Situated smack in the middle of the lower 48, Oklahoma is considered one of the “Great Plains” states. You’ll find plenty of rolling hills, beautiful terrain including 500 creeks, rivers and water reservoirs, but not too many mountains. We do have the world’s tallest hill though, missing the mountain category by one foot. Come on! Our Members love getting together to chat all things fringe and our gatherings are attended by warm, accepting folks. We love our CC family.

Michelle ♦ Oklahoma State Coordinator

I’ve lived in Oklahoma all but 9 months of my life. I started following Simon around 2019 and became a member of CC in 2021. I definitely have a heart for service, which explains why I am a Nurse. Helping others definitely makes me happy and also helping animals. At one point it was a big toss up whether I’d be a nurse or a veterinarian. I’ve always been a spiritual person and believed in God and Jesus, thus my journey taking me to realize they are so much more and our lives multidimensional, multifaceted with so many amazing aspects. I am a cup half full type person and always wishes, hopes and thinks for the best in us and our lives. If you have lemons, make lemonade!
We can help and spread peace, kindness and love to all. Sometimes it’s as simple as a smile to make someone’s day or even change their life.
So, smile make someone’s day!
