NEW MEXICO

Welcome to New Mexico!

Land of Enchantment, it is bordered by Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Texas, and a tiny edge of Oklahoma. “Four Corners” is the only place in the US where you can stand in four states at once. Santa Fe, founded in 1607, (thirteen years before the Pilgrims arrived) is the highest state capital in the US and the oldest, but New Mexico did not become a state until 1912.

A third of the residents speak Spanish.

It was the stomping ground of many “wild west” characters including Billie the Kid, Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, Jesse James, “Black-Jack” Ketchum, Buffalo Bill Cody, Annie Oakley, and Kit Carson. It is also known for many UFO sightings and the infamous Roswell incident. 75% of the roads in the state are not paved, but with little precipitation, it’s usually not a problem. A land of extremes: daily temperatures swings are often over 50 degrees, and a low per capita income contrasts with US’ sixth wealthiest county, Los Alamos, where government employees perfect atomic and other weapons.

There are many things to do and see: Taos Pueblo has been continuously inhabited for over 1100 years, with its main building over 900 years old. White Sands national Monument is the largest gypsum field on earth with white dunes stretching over 275 square miles. Albuquerque hosts its annual International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta drawing over 700 balloonists. Unique natural attractions include the Bandera Ice Cave, Rio Grande Gorge, Carlsbad Caverns, Tent Rocks, and many slot canyons, hot springs, and designated wilderness areas. The state bird is the Roadrunner! Beep Beep!

Susan ♦ New Mexico State Coordinator

As a lightworker and spiritual teacher, I am blessed to serve the New Mexico CC community.

In my ‘grounded’ work, I manage the Taos Food Coop, an all-volunteer grocery store in Taos NM, run by 35 volunteers. Before moving to Taos, I was Director of a Small Business Development Center in Galveston County Texas. Prior to that, I owned a video production company.

For over 30 years I have taught spiritual classes and helped people to understand their energy bodies and who they are in the greater scheme. I am trained in several healing modes including music and color therapy, sacred geometry, energy work and emotion code healing.

I am president of two small non-profits, Casa de Maria Research Center, focused on holistic healing, and specifically, music and color therapy, and World Transformation Alliance, focused on fostering humanitarian projects. I am on the advisory board of Courage to Change Recovery Services, which helps addicts navigate from homelessness through detox, treatment and clean and sober housing.

I have developed a system for holistic healing and education and also a method of repatterning the subconscious, designed for those who have been traumatized, addicted, or anyone who wants to make positive changes in their lives.

I have four children and 10 grandchildren, including one born 9 days ago. Some of my writings and aspirations can be found on my web site, collectivevision.info. It has been a great blessing to connect with the New Mexico CC membership and gradually get to know as many as I can.
